Students complete a midpoint checkpoint by using their passport and the wall map in a partner map talk. Each student points to Kentucky and one other place, names a geographic feature, explains how that feature affects people, and shows one revised passport page as evidence. The teacher uses a simple rubric for a progression gate; students who need more support revise during the final minutes before submitting.
