Using a large neighborhood map, picture icons, and sentence stems, students practice turning wonders into questions that can be answered by looking and comparing. In pairs, they give feedback to 2 peers by saying whether each question is about something they can see, hear, or compare, then students revise their own question with teacher support. The class selects a small set of strong investigation questions to carry forward.
