Students rehearse the observation routine using binoculars, picture checklists, clipboards, date cards, and a simple class map of the school area. The teacher models how to mark what was actually seen, heard, or noticed, and how to add a labeled sketch for tree, rooftop, pole, sky, or open ground. Children practice with sample hawk photos and short video clips before going outside.
