Students visit a local shelter in person or through a virtual walkthrough and document visible systems, audience access points, signage, animal care routines, and adoption-process friction points. They use an observation log with columns for what they saw, what it might mean, and what needs confirmation. This creates the first direct-contact evidence for later empathy and design work.
