🛠️ Rounding Toolkit Prototype Build & Peer Test
In small groups, students build Version 1 of their interactive rounding toolkit (e.g., movable number line slider, place value flip cards, grocery price estimation board) using chart paper, markers, index cards, and tape. The prototype must include at least one number line for rounding to the nearest ten, one model for rounding to the nearest hundred, and a grocery estimation example connected to their chosen user. Groups then test their toolkit with a different team acting as the target user (e.g., "busy shopper") using a short testing script. Testers solve 3 rounding problems and one grocery estimate while designers observe and record feedback in an iteration log. Teams revise immediately and label changes as Version 2 with written reasons tied to user feedback.
