🧠 Rounding Needs to HMW Statement

In small groups, students review their empathy maps and interview quotes about when people use rounding (e.g., grocery shopping, budgeting, counting items). They highlight repeated needs (such as "estimating quickly" or "not sure when to round to the nearest hundred") and cluster them on chart paper. Each group drafts one clear "How Might We help ___ use rounding to ___?" statement and writes a 1-paragraph rationale citing at least two specific user quotes and one example involving rounding to the nearest ten or hundred. Groups exchange statements for peer critique using sentence stems like “I noticed…” and “I wonder…,” revise once, and submit a final version.
