🧭 Colonial Question & Method Map

Students examine a short puzzling prompt with a colonial region map, 3 source cards, and settlement role cards, then choose one investigable question from a menu or write their own. In small groups, they draft a hypothesis and a one-page method plan that names at least 2 sources to check, 1 map feature to analyze, and the evidence categories they will track such as religion, geography, resources, trade, conflict/collaboration, and labor. Groups then complete a fast critique cycle: give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback, revise, and mark one remaining limitation or next question on their planning sheet.
