Using school handbook examples, classroom agreements, and local community rule samples, students match modern rules to Justinian-style laws in a two-column evidence log. The teacher gives a short just-in-time mini-lesson on writing comparison statements that name similarity, difference, and who holds power. Students work in pairs to test whether each comparison is supported by evidence instead of opinion.
