Students turn notebook curiosities into one focused classification question and a hypothesis about how shared traits and different adaptations relate to unity and diversity. In a peer-feedback round, each student gives feedback to 2 peers, receives feedback on clarity and investigability, and revises the question and hypothesis using sentence frames and a checklist. The teacher holds quick table conferences to correct vocabulary and push students toward evidence-based wording.
