Using two to three accounts of the same local or California event connected to their chapter, students complete a structured comparison focused on sourcing, contextualization, omissions, language, and reliability. The teacher models one short example, then students apply the process to their own set of documents and interview excerpts. Groups prepare a corroboration claim that explains why the accounts differ and what conclusion is best supported.
