🔎 Lateral Reading Reliability Check

Students learn just-in-time strategies for evaluating a source by opening new tabs, checking author background, tracing publication history, and testing claims against outside references. They practice with one primary source and one secondary article connected to their neighborhood topic, recording reliability notes in their research notebook. The session ends with students creating a short list of warning signs and credibility markers they will use in later phases.
