Students visit the Kumeyaay Museum or a local powwow and document observations in a field notebook using artifact sketches, quoted signage, place-based notes, and a quick land-use map. They collect evidence about how culture, land, survivance, and environment are represented, then identify one tension, omission, or contradiction they want to investigate further. Back in class, they add a short note connecting the visit to their assigned San Diego community.
