3 Have groups complete Round 1 of the mystery sort by examining organism photo cards, habitat-zone evidence cards, and Birch Aquarium video clips, then placing each organism into a likely rocky shore zone with a brief spoken reason. (12 min)
4 Run Round 2 evidence testing by adding tide charts, wave conditions, and weather snapshots; ask groups to revisit at least two placements, move any cards if needed, and record one revised survival claim about how conditions affect where an organism can live. (10 min)
5 Invite each group to choose one organism and craft a concise communication hook that compares one adaptation to a Pokémon move or ability, making sure the analogy supports rather than replaces the scientific explanation. (5 min)

Your task is to sort organisms into the rocky shore zone where you think they most likely live, explain your reasoning with evidence, and revise your thinking when new evidence appears. Use your group roles to keep everyone involved: one person helps the discussion move, one manages materials, one records claims, and one prepares to speak during the share-out. Begin by studying the first set of evidence and placing each organism on your sorting mat. For every placement, say why you think it belongs there and name any uncertainty. When the second round of evidence is added, revisit your placements and change them if the new tide, wave, or weather information gives you a stronger explanation. Then choose one organism and create a short Pokémon analogy that helps communicate one real adaptation clearly. Record one initial claim and one revised claim using evidence from the cards, charts, clips, and discussion. Your goal is not to be finished with the right answer; your goal is to build a reasonable explanation, notice patterns, and identify what you still need to investigate next.
