Using color-coded note cards or a digital slide canvas, students organize evidence across key turning points: 1911 Revolution, Warlord Era, May Fourth Movement, Civil War, 1949, land reform, collectivization, and the Cultural Revolution. They mark continuities, changes, and anomalies for daily life, power, identity, safety, and work, then draft a short significance statement about which turning point appears most consequential so far. This session emphasizes pattern-finding before design decisions.
