Students revisit the initial claim from the preview and convert it into a focused investigation question that can be answered with literary evidence and career research. Using a teacher-modeled example, they sort strong and weak questions, then draft one question, one tentative claim, and one note about possible conflicting evidence they may encounter. Pairs use a critique checklist to test whether the question is narrow, researchable, and tied to author choices and workplace demands.
