📖 Mentor Text Detail Hunt

Students revisit a short community-helping mentor text and a photo set, using picture cards and sentence stems to ask and answer questions about who needs help, what the problem is, and what action helped. First graders respond mostly through speaking, pointing, and drawing; second graders add oral or short written recounts of key ideas. The class records shared evidence on a large anchor chart that will be used during interviews and synthesis.
