Students use rulers, grid paper, and a scale key such as 1 square = 1 foot to draft a first rectangle-based classroom plan with labeled zones, dimensions, and a materials list. The teacher gives just-in-time reminders on keeping scale consistent and labeling units. Students then give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback on measurements and true representation, and revise their plan before filing both versions in their folder with a short sketch check naming one success and one next step.
