🎤 Belonging Circle and Line Sort

Students begin with a rapid identity-and-belonging circle using short prompts, then listen to a brief roundtable from a local community center staff member about belonging in neighborhoods and friend groups. In small groups, they sort a short excerpt set from The Outsiders by signs of character change, using sticky notes to label evidence connected to loyalty, identity, or belonging. The class closes by previewing the Character Investigation Notebook on Ponyboy Curtis, the found-poem performance, and the Outsiders Open Mic.
