Students complete a quick gallery walk of station charts and sample map sketches, leaving sticky-note feedback on map accuracy, clear labels, and one question about how a region affects jobs or daily life. Then pairs sort teacher-provided investigable question cards into 'can check with maps and artifacts' or 'needs more evidence' before each student writes the week 1 class region journal reflection. Students give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback, and revise one notebook question or label before turning in their journal entry.
