🧭 Weather Needs Sort

Effective Communication Collaboration Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Content Expertise LS.2.D LS.2.C LS.4.B LS.2.A K-2-ETS1-1 Submission Required

Using picture cards, class weather logs, tool sketches, and notes from Forecast Detective Day, students work in small groups to sort evidence into categories: temperature, wind, clouds, precipitation, and how weather changes what families, animals, or plants need. The teacher models a simple empathy chart with icons for 'Who?', 'What weather?', and 'What help is needed?' before groups build their own chart on chart paper with drawings and labels. Students share one pattern they noticed and one community need the class could help address.
