Grading Required
In small teams, students use a short silent movie clip, classroom instruments, body percussion, voice, and found objects to create a first sound prototype for a chosen mood such as suspense, joy, or sadness. Teams perform their prototype for two peer teams, who act as audience testers and record what mood they noticed, which sound elements helped most, and one comparison to an animal warning, contact, or distress call. Each team then revises, performs a second version for two peers, receives another round of feedback, and completes a brief iteration log naming at least two changes, why they made them, and how the revised sounds better answered the question, "How is music / sound utilized in movies to set a mood?"
