🎬 Movie Mood and Animal Sound Launch
Effective Communication
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
Collaboration
Submission Required
Students watch two short versions of the same film scene—one with suspenseful audio and one with cheerful or no audio—then discuss how pitch, volume, tempo, and silence shaped their feelings and understanding. Next, they listen to 2–3 animal sound recordings and infer possible messages such as warning, contact, or distress, using a class T-chart to compare animal communication with human sound choices in movies. Students then complete a brief Sound Analysis Journal and exchange it with 2 peers for feedback before revising one response to make their evidence clearer.
