🧭 Criteria and Constraints for Seasonal Recipes

Using sample ingredients, kickoff journal pages, and a teacher-made criteria/constraints chart, the class sorts what a strong seasonal recipe must do versus limits it must work within. Students examine evidence about plant parts, local availability, water/soil needs, cost, safety, and simple preparation tools, then co-create a short class anchor chart with grade-level engineering vocabulary. Each student records one draft criteria list and one draft constraints list in the project journal for the cookbook team to use next.
