Students submit and briefly conference about a finalized investigation plan that includes the focus question, hypothesis, source targets, interview questions, note-taking tools, and a timeline for evidence collection. The teacher checks whether the plan is specific, evidence-based, and ready for the next phase’s source capture work. Students who meet the standard move forward; others make immediate revisions during the period.
