Each team completes a short performance-based checkpoint in which they defend their section of the mural to the teacher, citing evidence, chronology, and reasoning before moving into the final showcase phase. Students must explain how their artifacts, captions, and audio reflection answer the essential question and how they handled contradictory or incomplete evidence. Weekly circle conversation time is folded into the close of class, with students naming one migration story that changed their thinking about why people move.
