🌿 Native Plant Layout Moves

Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Academic Mindset 5-ESS3-1 Submission Required

Using photos from the local native plant nursery, field journals, and a teacher-modeled anchor chart, students study how canopy trees, shrubs, groundcover, habitat shelters, and simple visitor paths can fit together in a small urban forest. Teams sort example plant cards by sunlight, soil, and space needs, then discuss which combinations would help animals and people use the space well. Students add at least three labeled design ideas to their journals for later sketching.
