Teams turn the architecture brief into a focused investigable question and hypothesis about which solid will be most space-efficient for the given constraints. Using rulers, grid paper, calculators, and either cardboard nets or digital modeling tools, they decide which solids to compare, what dimensions to measure, how to record units, and how to calculate volume, surface area, and unit-rate efficiency. Each team creates a first-draft method table in its design brief showing materials, measurement sequence, formulas, and how anomalies or conflicting results will be documented.
