Students will launch the promotion speech project by surfacing meaningful school memories, analyzing how a model speech works for a formal audience, and identifying the first design choices they will carry into later drafting and rehearsal.
Day 1
Listen & Map
Listen & Map
Students will gather audience-centered evidence from interviews and mentor text study, translate nine meaningful school moments into a visual timeline with captions, and use patterns from both sources to draft a focused How Might We design brief for their promotion speech.
Days 2 - 3
Prototype & Present
Prototype & Present
Students will prototype multiple versions of their promotion speech, test them through structured read-alouds, use peer and listener evidence to revise for audience and delivery, and present a refined speech direction with a visible record of feedback-driven changes.
Days 4 - 5
