Students will launch the investigation by rotating through a Santa Ana Stats Safari, testing quick claims against neighborhood data clues, recording brief reflections on what numbers reveal and hide, and identifying the kinds of evidence they will need to investigate a city issue responsibly in the next phase.

Students will refine a focused Santa Ana neighborhood investigation by turning early observations into investigable questions, selecting appropriate data sources and graphing methods, checking for bias and missing information, and revising a methodology plan through peer and partner feedback before full data collection begins.

Students will present their Santa Ana Evidence Exchange poster boards and action plans to classmates and invited community partners, respond to questions about data quality and neighborhood patterns, gather feedback on the realism of their recommendation, and submit a brief revision note explaining how partner input shaped their final claim.
