Preparation (10 items)
- Create 6-8 station sets with a balanced mix of whole-number, decimal, and fraction pantry clues tied to package sizes, family needs, and sharing situations.
- Prepare clearly labeled station cards that allow students to identify whether each clue suggests fair-sharing or grouping division without requiring full computation at every stop.
- Print one team recording sheet with columns for clue name, estimate, fair-sharing or grouping, best-fit tool, and sticky-note question.
- Prepare anchor cards or mini posters for ratio table, open array, and division notation with brief student-friendly reminders and simple examples.
- Gather materials for each station: clue cards, pencils, sticky notes, clipboards or hard surfaces, and baskets or folders for organized rotation.
- Pre-teach or post a small vocabulary support chart with quotient, estimate, ratio table, open array, fair-sharing, and grouping, using visuals or sentence frames for students who need language support.
- Arrange stations around the room with enough space for team discussion and post a visible rotation order and timer.
- Prepare 2 sample launch clues for the opening model, including one whole-number case and one decimal or fraction case connected to pantry sharing.
- Review station card reading load and create supports such as highlighted numbers, picture icons, or partner-read versions for students with varying reading levels.

Student-facing instructions
You will work with your team to become Division Detectives. At each station, you will read a pantry clue card, talk about what quantities you notice, and record a quick estimate of the quotient before solving fully.
