A city water staff member and a Kumeyaay cultural educator share short examples of stormwater care, native plants, and land stewardship. Students listen for what people, land, insects, birds, and soil need, then record ideas on color-coded cards with drawings and labels. In table groups, they sort the cards into categories: people, insects, birds, soil, and water care, and mark any class assumption that needs checking.
