Submission Required
Students meet a city water staff member and a Kumeyaay cultural educator, hear the two essential questions, and watch a short demonstration of rain moving through a street-to-drain-to-garden model. In small groups, they rotate through trays with water, sand, gravel, soil, rocks, and native plant samples, pour water, observe what moves fast or slow, and use picture cards to talk about cleaner and dirtier runoff. Each group ends by adding one drawing or label to a class anchor chart showing where water traveled and what helped slow it.
