📝 CER Frames for Waste Claims

Students examine short teacher-curated examples from an I Love A Clean San Diego assembly note, a campus photo, and a brief Earth Day text excerpt to identify what counts as a claim, evidence, and reasoning. They use a simple evidence log to sort strong evidence from opinions and practice writing one claim about a campus waste problem with two pieces of starter evidence. Science vocabulary such as resource, waste, recycle, compost, and environment is added to a class word bank for later use.
