Using a teacher-curated text set from I Love A Clean San Diego, Earth Day videos, school walkthrough photos, and short articles about recycling, composting, and food waste, students practice judging which sources are most useful for answering their campus waste question. They use a color-coded evidence log to note source type, one key fact, and why the source is strong, weak, or incomplete. The class compares how science observations, community partner expertise, and media sources each contribute different kinds of evidence.
