Teams rotate through a table of snack cards, clue cards from the cafeteria staff member, fraction strips, tiles, number lines, and grid paper to figure out which snack combinations could make a balanced menu. Students compare portions using benchmark fractions such as 1/2, test equivalent fractions, and sketch at least one array or area model to estimate total servings. Each team then drafts a quick menu sketch and gives a 30-second pitch naming one fraction choice, one multiplication or computation strategy, and one question they still need to investigate with the cafeteria staff member.
