✏️ Portrait and Spread Thumbnails

Using pencils, sticky notes, magazine paper frames, and storyboard boxes, students generate three different concept directions for their page: a portrait plan, a short article outline, and a simple layout sketch. The teacher gives just-in-time reminders on composition choices already practiced, such as background, angle, lighting source, and pose, so students can apply them immediately in planning. Students label each option with who the design is for and what they want viewers to learn.
