Submission Required
Students examine printed sample portraits, self-portraits, captions, and short school articles, then sort them with picture cards for strong composition, clear lighting, useful interview details, and audience-friendly writing. The class co-creates a simple anchor chart for what makes a school story image and article work, using words and sketches such as subject, background, quote, detail, and mood. Students finish by sketching one possible person or place they might photograph and naming one question they want to ask in Phase 2.
