🖼️ Cold War Canvas Walk

Students mount or place their one-page abstract painting with a short artist statement and a linked Pollock image or 1950s headline that influenced the piece. During the gallery walk, each student gives feedback to 2 peers using two prompts: identify one visible use of gesture, scale, or color that communicates meaning, and ask one question about the historical connection or artistic choice. Students receive feedback, make one quick revision to the artist statement or display notes, then participate in a partner talk comparing how Pollock’s methods and their own work communicate conflict or freedom without recognizable objects before a short whole-class share tied to the essential questions.
