🧠 Brain Pathway Claim Draft

Effective Communication Collaboration Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Content Expertise Self Directed Learning Submission Required Grading Required

Students examine selected notes from the petting zoo launch and participate in a just-in-time mini lesson on the roles of the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, amygdala, dopamine, and serotonin using an anchor diagram and short science text excerpts. In small groups, they build a first-pass visual pathway linking one observed trigger to a thought, brain structure, chemical response, and emotion, then give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback, and revise. The class ends with a local doctor or therapist responding to student questions and students writing a brief CER-style claim about how much control people have over emotions.
