Using mentor documentary notes and their approved focus statement, students sketch a beginning, middle, and ending on the Documentary Proposal & Planning Sheet. They identify the claim or understanding they want the audience to leave with, then match each section to specific visual evidence, interview moments, narration possibilities, and likely gaps. The class briefly compares stronger and weaker story paths to test whether each plan supports a real documentary rather than a montage.
