Students examine sample portfolio pages with graphs, equations, residual plots, and revision notes from prior-style modeling work, then identify what makes the evidence convincing. In pairs, they give feedback to 2 peers on a drafted investigable question and proposed evidence source for the museum or environmental data challenge, receive feedback, and revise their question-and-evidence entry. Each student leaves with a first notebook page that names a focal case, one investigable question, one possible comparison model, and the data features they will need to collect or inspect next phase.
