🧪 Mutation Models & Question Lab

Content Expertise Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Self Directed Learning HS-LS1-1 Submission Required

Students rotate through a hands-on mini workshop on DNA structure, base-pairing, codons, and mutation types using beads, paper strips, and translation charts, then apply the skill to compare normal and altered sequences from sample cases. In the second half, students examine short background texts and case evidence to narrow broad curiosities into investigable questions that can be pursued with classroom models, data, and later expert feedback. Each student drafts a question and prediction in notebook form that connects a DNA change, a protein outcome, and a specialized cell job.
