🎭 Revolutionary Rally: Factions in Conflict
Students participate in an immersive role-play representing factions (Porfiristas, Maderistas, Zapatistas, Villistas, Constitutionalists). Each group receives a short primary source excerpt (e.g., Plan de Ayala, Díaz interview, Carranza speech) and a historian’s contrasting interpretation about responsibility for revolutionary outcomes. Groups prepare a 2-minute stance and engage in a structured whole-class debate around the question: “Which leader bears the greatest responsibility for the successes and failures of the Mexican Revolution (1910–1920)?” The class concludes by mapping the competing claims on the board, identifying at least three defensible positions and the reasoning behind each.
