Teams spread out their empathy maps from interviews (classmate + adult) and look for patterns using picture cards (e.g., “forgets last number,” “likes using fingers,” “needs to see toys lined up”). Students physically sort drawings and teacher-scribed quotes into groups on chart paper. The class co-creates a simple persona (e.g., “Alex counts toys but skips the last one”) and acts out one observed addition struggle using counters and fingers to keep math content concrete.
