💡 Bakery Timing Brainstorm & Concept Sketches

KY.3.MD.1 Submission Required

In small teams, students revisit their “How Might We” statement and empathy maps, then complete a rapid brainstorm to list at least 15 different ways to help bakers manage prep, bake, and cool times (quantity over quality). Teams use a simple SCAMPER-style prompt card set (Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, Rearrange) to push beyond first ideas. Next, they circle their top 3 ideas and use a desirability chart (Which idea best helps our baker’s timing challenge?) to select 2 strong concepts. Teams create clear concept sketches/storyboards showing step-by-step how a baker would use the tool, including labeled start times, end times, and at least one elapsed time calculation across the hour.
