🧠 Water Quality Insight to HMW
Students begin by clustering key quotes and observations from their two user interviews (e.g., concerns about tap water taste, runoff from lawns, fertilizer use, storm drains) and linking them to planned lab indicators (dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, phosphate, BOD). In small groups, they create a quick affinity map on chart paper, identifying patterns about human activities and ecosystem consequences. Each student drafts a Point-of-View (POV) statement and at least two distinct 'How Might We' questions grounded in specific user quotes and anticipated water quality impacts. Students exchange drafts with two peers for critique, checking for assumption-based wording versus evidence-based framing, then revise and submit a final HMW with a one-paragraph rationale citing at least two user quotes and one water quality indicator.
