🛠️ Pollution Reduction Prototype Build & Iteration Log
Teams construct a low-to-medium fidelity prototype (e.g., runoff filtration model, storm drain diversion model, nutrient-capture system, or public awareness toolkit mockup) directly tied to their HMW statement and water data. Using lab materials (beakers, filter media, sand/charcoal, mesh, cardboard, tubing, poster board) or digital design tools, they create Version 1 within 20 minutes. Teams then conduct rapid user testing with another team acting as representative users (e.g., homeowners, school staff, students), gather verbal feedback and observations, and revise to Version 2. Each team completes an iteration log documenting what was tested, what users said/did, what changed, and why the revision better addresses dissolved oxygen, turbidity, phosphate, or BOD concerns.
