🎨 Crazy 8s Budget Sketches

Students fold paper into 8 boxes and complete a rapid "Crazy 8s" sketching round—drawing 8 different ways to combine 3–5 items under $20 (e.g., more healthy items, fewer higher-cost items, equal mix). After sketching, partners explain their addition and subtraction strategies using math vocabulary (sum, total, difference). Pairs give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback, and revise one sketch to better match a user need or fix a math error.
