🏘️ Number Neighborhood Marketplace Presentations
Teams set up their refined Rounding Marketplace booths with original and rounded prices, place value charts, number lines, empathy posters, and iteration logs. Guests (families, school staff, and/or travel agency partners) visit booths and participate in one simulated shopping or trip-planning transaction using play money. Each team delivers a 3–4 minute presentation explaining: (1) user insights from interviews, (2) their How Might We statement, (3) how rounding to the nearest 10 or 100 supported budgeting decisions, (4) changes made between Version 1 and Version 2 based on feedback, and (5) one remaining improvement. At the end, students gather in a circle to reflect aloud on the Essential Question: “How can rounding numbers help us make better decisions in daily life?” sharing both a math insight and a feeling about the process.
