🌆 Concrete Jungle Safari Walk
Submission Required
Students explore school grounds and surrounding paved areas to document heat and runoff patterns. Using infrared thermometers, surface thermometers, and printed base maps, they record temperature differences between asphalt, grass, shaded areas, and rooftops. Students photograph potential flooding zones (storm drains, low spots, compacted soil) and annotate observations about abiotic factors (surface material, sunlight exposure) and visible biotic factors (trees, grass, insects).
